Somehow I missed my invite to The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony this year. Gee, that's odd. I'm sure it was lost in the mail or something. Oh, well. In case yours was also lost, you can read a recap of the evening's events here.

David Lee Roth says VH will start work on new music this summer, but says it might take three years before you hear it. Considering how long we waited last time, that's not so bad, is it? I'd be interested to hear how it compares to "A Different Kind of Truth," which was a new album made out of old (but not bad) ideas. This would really be a NEW new Van Halen album.

On the other hand, Dave said some time ago that VH would do a "massive European tour" this year, only to have the band's manager insist that no such tour would happen. So who knows if a new album is actually in the works. DLR is always entertaining, even if he's BS-ing.

That's what Ozzy says about the new Sabbath album. Well, a Black Sabbath album should be scary, right? Ozzy says he expected to be "unhappy with the end result" but instead the album came out better than his wildest dreams. Here's the link.

Richie Sambora says a "personal matter" is his reason for leaving Bon Jovi's "Because We Can" tour. Some say Jon and Richie are fighting. Others say that's not it at all and that he hasn't quit the band, just the tour. Here's a link to the story.

Whatever the reason, Bon Jovi is continuing the tour without Sambora. They'll be at Soldier Field July 12. And you already know you can get all the concert info you need right next door on the Concerts that Rock page, just mouse over "Connect" up top.

...but they're rolling through North America this spring. Rumor had it they'd do 20 dates in North America. Then we heard 18. Turns out it's only nine. But one of them is at the United Center in Chicago on May 28th. Tickets for that show go on sale Monday. Here's the link. I'm gonna go talk to my banker about getting a loan so I can go, too.

So VH is playing only one U.S. date in 2013, and that's at Rock USA in Oshkosh. Groovy for us! Meanwhile, David Lee Roth has been talking about a "massive European tour" this summer. Or at least he was, until uber-manager Irving Azoff came along and said "I manage the Van Halens, and I know nothing" about it. Zing? Here's a link to the story.  Just kinda makes me laugh. The important thing is, they're doing Australia, Japan, and... Wisconsin. Kind of an odd itinerary, but we ain't complainin'!

You already knew this show was going to great... Heart with Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience, August 1st at the Wisconsin State Fair. More awesome still: They're going to close out the night with a 30+ minute Zep tribute at every show. If you know Heart's history, you know they've closed about a zillion shows with Zep's "Rock And Roll" as the encore. I'm sure this will top even that! Here's a link to the story.
