Soccer at Lambeau Field?
Wednesday 03-25-2009 10:55pm CT

There is an effort to bring a different type of football to Lambeau Field.

Stadium officials are talking with the United States Soccer Federation about the possibility of staging a soccer match.

Right now, the talk is centered on the condition and size of the field.  There are also concerns about whether enough people would attend the game to make it worthwhile.

No commitments have been made at this time.

The USSF has offered up the U.S. Women's team.  Any match would be played in an off-World Cup or off-Olympic year, according to stadium officials.

Nick Collins

Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy says safety Nick Collins has agreed to separate football from his contract business. But McCarthy won’t say if that means Collins will report to the Packers off-season workouts any time soon. The fifth-year pro is starting the final year of his rookie contract. A McCarthy says Collins has had talks with all the affected people in the organization about his contract status and what he’d like to do. Collins’ wife is soon expected to have her third child – and reports say he won’t report to Green Bay at least until the baby is born. Collins started at safety for the NFC in his first Pro Bowl last month.
